It is the same procedure as going through the rabanut, but more user-friendly. One word or the wrong tone can risk a couple never wanting to have anything more to do with rabbis, Torah, etc.

There is already a danger of the State's interference with the Rabbanuth,...the courts are telling it to give kashruth certifications. What will be next? This is only going to get worse.

The Rabbanuth in many ways is just a set of puppets of the guv'mint.

Tzohar is not the answer though. they are filled with mamlachti (state loyalist) rabbis, Yuval Cherlow, no? the State doesn't have to monitor this "independent" body. These guys are already loyal,...and who knows what they will decide based on many of these rabbis being blinded by their undying state loyalty.

now you know why many of my friends are choosing to go to the Eidah Haredith.Esser Agarothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12853681733864707489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699890406163567974.post-20346332834369812092010-08-02T11:32:24.238+03:002010-08-02T11:32:24.238+03:00You're right Snoopy, Tzohar a basically privat...You're right Snoopy, Tzohar a basically privatizing services that should be offered by the Government funded Rabbanut.

The real problem is that if the Rabbanut continues to be non-responsive to the needs of the community, it is only a matter of time before the Rabbanut will be closed down all together and there will be no uniform standards for weddings, conversions, or burial in the country.Michael Sedleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02684514303911193073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699890406163567974.post-9104513381295085872010-08-02T11:16:29.313+03:002010-08-02T11:16:29.313+03:00"Unfortunately a proposal like this would dec..."Unfortunately a proposal like this would decentralize the control of the Rabbanut and would face fierce opposition."

You couldn't be more right - both the post and the above statement.
